Phoelicia says it best.

He is my match.
At 50, I had no idea that God would have my soul mate ready and prepared for me…
‘Met Rich where many folks our age meet these days – on a dating site. I was just about fed up with that crazy approach to dating when I received a quick note from a guy 50 miles away. I looked at his profile, and there wasn’t anything that jumped out at me, so I almost ignored his note. Something whispered to me, “Just one more try”… We shared just a quick “how-do-you-do” via email before deciding to meet. The first time I saw or spoke to him was at Barnes & Noble. I wore jeans, boots and a purple sweater. He loved poetry. So did I. He was an intellectual with the kindest eyes and open smile and infectious laugh, and his salt & pepper hair was spiked in a way that gave him a very youthful appearance. He laughed at my jokes. We sat on the floor of the poetry aisle, reading to each other… Later, we had a “high plains drifter” stroll by our table a few times that caused us to giggle uncontrollably. I loved the sound of his voice – originally from Long Island, but in the South long enough to soften the ends of his sentences. We talked and talked. We bid adieu in the parking lot – After a long embrace, I strolled to my car knowing that he was watching me. I felt warm and secure and content.
He sent me a text later that evening… “You look beautiful in purple”.
Over the next few months, he courted me… sent me flowers, bought me perfume, brought me an apple tree sapling and planted it in my back yard – because he knew I loved apple trees. We named her “Glory”. He surprised me with cards and dinner, Christmas dishes “for our future holidays together”, and all things romantic and funny and perfect. We vowed to “wait” to share ourselves with the other.
And then it happened… On one beautiful, late Spring day, Rich surprised me at the office – said he wanted to take me to lunch. I expressed my gratitude and excitement (I was giddy that he had driven 50 miles to come take me to lunch!), but I told him I just couldn’t – too much work to do. He had a different plan. He won my time, and we hopped in the car, but I told him “we have to go through a drive-through”. A short time later, we are heading toward Barnes & Noble – he says he needs to pick up a book of poetry that he’d like us to read together. I didn’t want to get out of the car – “Need to get back”, I pleaded. He won….again.
He took my hand in his and led me to the poetry aisle. He knelt down, in front of shoppers and employees…professed his love and said he wanted to make me his. I wept tears of joy. There were beautiful rings and gorgeous flowers that were rich with purple. And the ring – a gorgeous amethyst – full of purple royalty.
We set the date…didn’t want to wait. So 2 months later, in front of our closest family and friends, we vowed to love each other for the rest of our lives.
My love…the only love of my life. God sent to me an angel – my best friend, mentor and lover… my biggest fan, and I am his. He is the smartest, brightest, kindest, funniest, sexiest man I have ever known. And he is mine.
